St. Joan of Arc parish assists
Ugandan orphans

Ugandan Bishop Callist Rubaramira will visit Los Angeles and St. Joan of Arc Parish from Sept. 9-22. Bishop Rubaramira, who shepherds the Diocese of Kabale in rural, southwestern Uganda, is traveling to Southern California to meet with and thank the donors to the Uganda AIDS Orphan Children Foundation (UAOCF) for their work in supporting AIDS-orphaned children in the diocese.

 

St. Dominic parishioner joins Mayor's Commission on Disability
Theresa May de Vera, a 2004 Loyola Marymount University political science graduate and parishioner at St. Dominic Church in Eagle Rock, was recently appointed to the Mayor's Commission on Disability.

Bach to Broadway at St. Andrew Church
The diverse strains of Bach, Puccini as well as Rogers and Hammerstein will fill the air Sept. 9 at St. Andrew Church in Pasadena for the annual benefit concert for the ongoing restoration of the 78-year-old building.

 
Interfaith blessing of the animals
As part of the Friends of Long Beach Animal Appreciation Day and the 2K/5K Walk for the Animals, there will be a blessing of pets at Heartwell Park in Long Bearch (5102 Carson St.) on Sunday, Oct. 2.
