A Graduation Celebration: ‘Enjoy this moment’

Written by The Tidings Friday, 29 June 2012 00:00

In the past two months, at high schools public, private and parochial throughout the three-county Archdiocese of Los Angeles, thousands of young people have completed what is, to this point, the most significant, challenging and, in many ways, enjoyable four years of their lives.

This week, The Tidings congratulates all high school graduates, and in a particular way salutes the 6,332 young women and men who have earned their diplomas from the 50 Catholic high schools in the archdiocese.

The words of St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs) principal Kate Aceves to her class summarize well the thoughts and prayers of all who have journeyed with these seniors: “Enjoy this moment because each present moment is a gift from God, and it is what you do with each of those moments that will determine the value of your life. Congratulations, Class of 2012, and God bless you.”

Prayer of the Month

Papal intentions for May: That administrators of justice may act always with integrity and right conscience; That seminaries, especially those of mission churches, may form pastors after the Heart of Christ, fully dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel.
