Written by SISTER NANCY MUNRO, CSJ 05 August 2011
July 31 — the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola — was indeed the appropriate day for the Highland Park parish named in his honor to celebrate its Centennial Mass. Sean Acton (pastor from 1970-1978) and Alfred Hernandez (1978-1997), and Father Arturo Velasco (1997-2010), as well as Archbishop Jose Gomez and San Fernando Region Auxiliary Bishop Gerald Wilkerson.

That’s what the Carmelite vocation is — seek the face of God and to be open and free to say: ‘I want to walk to Jesus.’ That’s what they’re doing.Glendora parishioners assist in building Kenya parish, school
