St. Francis of Assisi hosts 'Clown Camp'
The "Fools for Christ Clown Camp" for kids 8 and up will be held Aug. 4-7 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fillmore.

The camp will feature four evenings of drama games, art song prayer and story telling. "Parents, teen or other adult must offer one evening of supervision," said Michael Lara, coordinator. "We are also in need of teen leaders who enjoy humor and kids."

Children ages 5-7 may attend if accompanied by adult. Registration begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 4 ($20 per family or $10 per individual). For information contact Lara, (805) 524-1306.

Knights dinner aids seminary
The Adolfo Camarillo Knights of Columbus served up a "Family Night Dinner" recently at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Camarillo and raised $920 for nearby St. John's Seminary.

According to Don Marcotte, who led the effort, the "free" dinner attracted more than 100 diners and several seminarians from St. John's. The event allowed seminarians to become better acquainted with the local residents, he said.

The funds will support St. John's campaigns to endow two chairs: the Cardinal Timothy Manning Chair in Priestly Spirituality and the Cardinal William J. Levada Chair in Systematic Theology. Both will "help assure the highest quality formation for our future priests," said Msgr. Craig Cox, seminary rector/president.

"The Knights of Columbus have a long history of support for priestly vocations," added Msgr. Cox, "and we are hopeful that other Knight's Councils will be inspired by this wonderful effort of the Adolfo Camarillo Council."

For more information on opportunities to support St. John's Seminary, call the Office of Advancement, (805) 482-2755 ext 2035.
