Parishes launch voter registration drive
LOS ANGELES --- The African American Catholic Center, in collaboration with participating parishes in Los Angeles County and One LA/IAF, have launched a non-partisan voter registration campaign. The campaign kicked off April 5 at five parishes --- Holy Name of Jesus, Transfiguration, St. Bernadette, St. Brigid and St. Jerome. Other parishes will join the effort in coming weeks. The goal is to have 60 participating parishes.
"Based on the needs and issues impacting our communities there is a call for voters with moral convictions to speak out with their ballots for those who are suffering injustices and economic inequities," said Anderson Shaw, director of AACCFE.
