SHRINE --- A statue of Our Lady of Altotting is on display in an alcove in the sanctuary of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington. The representation of Mary and the Christ Child is revered by German Catholics in Bavaria, where the original centuries-old statue is kept in Altotting.
