 "The Relevance of Teaching the Holocaust in the 21st Century" will be held for educators and community members on consecutive Thursday evenings, Jan. 31-Feb. 21 with an optional fifth session on Feb. 28, 4:15-8:30 p.m. The workshop is presented by the Anti-Defamation League, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance and the Center for Excellence on the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, Human Rights and Tolerance.
While the series is designed for middle and high school levels, elementary school teachers will also gain insights and benefits from distinguished scholars, educators and survivors' eyewitness accounts. The topics include: Witness to History: Educational Experience & Primary Resources; Teaching Democratic Values through the Holocaust; Teaching Moral Decision Making through the Holocaust. Sessions are held at the ADL office and the Museum of Tolerance.
