Artist Lalo Garcia installs new murals at the Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The murals depict the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego in 1531. They are part of phase one of an expansion of the shrine. The official unveiling will take place Dec. 9 following the 12:30 p.m. Mass. Garcia previously created the shrine in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Cathedral Plaza as well as the mural of Our Lady which can be seen by drivers on the 101 Freeway. |
