Public policy breakfast on health care crisis: Sept. 28
The 2007 Public Policy Breakfast entitled "California's Health Care Crisis: Action for Reform" Sept. 28 will provide attendees an opportunity to learn more about the current health care crisis in California. The program will provide a moral framework for the issue, offer various perspectives and solutions and discuss current legislative campaigns.

The 13th annual breakfast with Cardinal Roger Mahony will feature guest panelists William Cox, president/CEO of the Alliance of Catholic Health Care; Hector De La Torre, State Assemblymember 50th District; Ruth Liu of the California Health and Human Services Agency; Jim Keddy, executive director of the PICO California Project; and testimony form an uninsured worker.

The breakfast takes place 8-10 a.m. at Shriners Hospital for Children, 3160 Geneva St. in Los Angeles. To register, call the archdiocesan Office of Justice and Peace at (213) 637-7690.
