'Leading With Passion' conference
set Sept. 14-15

text only version

Jesuit Father J-Glenn Murray will be among the featured presenters at the second annual "Leading With Passion!" worship music conference and festival, Sept. 14-15 at St. Monica Church in Santa Monica.

Composer John Angotti, named Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2006 United Catholic Music and Video Association Unity Awards, will open the conference with a concert Sept. 14, 7:30 p.m. Father Murray, a frequent presenter on liturgy and director of the Office of Pastoral Liturgy for the Diocese of Cleveland, will deliver the conference keynote Sept. 15.

Also Sept. 15, workshops will be offered on vocal, choral and instrumental work; planning worship and liturgy; the spirituality of music; and youth involvement, as well as workshops in Spanish. A three-part voice workshop will be offered by Seth Riggs, who has coached (among others) Josh Groban, Faith Hill, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, and over 120 Grammy Award winners.

The conference is sponsored by Wings Music Ministry, in association with St. Monica Church and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Last year's event attracted members of over 64 churches from varied Christian denominations.

Other presenters include Grammy award winner Vic Vanacore; composer Christopher Walker; gospel musician Clifford Petty; Foursquare Church minister Sy Goraieb; Unity Award winner Sarah Hart; recording artist ValLimar Jansen; vocal instructor Alexandra Lee; sound designer Bill Platt; and El Sembrador music director Mario Alberto Perez.

A Unity Concert featuring conference artists will again close the conference Sept. 15, 8 p.m. Tickets to both concerts are free with conference registration, but individual concert tickets will also be available to the public.

For more information, or to register or purchase tickets, call (310) 566-1500 or visit www.LeadingWithPassion.org.
