Holy Week schedule for Cathedral announced
LOS ANGELES --- The Holy Week schedule of liturgies at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels has been announced. The schedule includes:

Sunday, April 1 (Palm Sunday): Masses at 8 and 10 a.m. (English), 12:30 p.m. (Spanish), 2:30 p.m. (bilingual) and 5 p.m. (English).

Monday, April 2: Chrism Mass at 7 p.m.

Thursday, April 5 (Holy Thursday): Morning Prayer at 7 a.m.; Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, April 6 (Good Friday): Morning Prayer at 7 a.m. (English); Liturgy of the Lord's Passion at noon and 3 p.m. (English), 7:30 p.m. (Spanish).

Saturday, April 7 (Holy Saturday): Morning Prayer at 9 a.m.; Easter Vigil Service at 8 p.m.

Sunday, April 8 (Easter Sunday): Masses at 8 and 10 a.m. (English), 12:30 p.m. (Spanish), 2:30 p.m. (bilingual).

Parking: For April 5 and 7, regular rates 7 a.m.-5 p.m., no charge after 5 p.m.; for April 6, flat fee of $5 from 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; for April 8, no charge until 3 p.m., $5 after 3 p.m.

Sts. Peter and Paul hosts Cesar Chavez Day
celebration March 30
WILMINGTON --- Saints Peter and Paul School in Wilmington is celebrating Cesar Chavez Day March 30, with several activities led by the children of the parish and school.

An afternoon assembly will include a display of the children's Cesar Chavez art projects, followed by a biography of Chavez' life, and the sixth grade class will perform a folklorico dance. After the assembly, the student body will pray the Stations of the Cross.

Religious sisters in Alhambra honored by Knights of Columbus
ALHAMBRA --- Parishioners from St. Thomas More, St. Therese and All Souls parishes in Alhambra gathered March 10 to honor religious orders who live and work in the city, and to raise money for the Wheelchair Foundation.

The Alhambra Council of the Knights of Columbus sponsored the inaugural "Religious Sisters Appreciation Dinner" in St. Thomas More's Parish Hall. Among the religious orders represented were the sisters of the Community of the Holy Spirit, the Sisters of St. Columban, the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles, and the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.

"This event was really long overdue and we are very pleased with the turnout," said Dan Moberg, Alhambra Council Grand Knight, adding that all proceeds after expenses will be donated to the Wheelchair Foundation in the names of the orders of all of the sisters who attended.

The Wheelchair Foundation is an international charitable organization that supplies wheelchairs throughout the world to those in need. The Knights of Columbus became a charitable partner of the Wheelchair Foundation several years ago, a partnership which began in the San Gabriel Valley, said Moberg.

Each of the honored guests in attendance at the Dinner was individually recognized and presented with a token of appreciation by the Alhambra Council. The evening also featured a lively raffle, sponsored by more than three dozen Alhambra businesses.
