Life Issues Conference: March 2-3

The 2007 Annual Life Issues Conference, "Pregnancy Loss, Unresolved Grief, Media, Culture, & The Story Not Told," takes place March 2-3. It will focus on post abortion trauma and healing with speaker Theresa Burke, PhD, LPC, NCP, founder of the post abortion healing ministry, Rachel's Vineyard. Burke will lead the conference's medical track Saturday afternoon after speaking on post traumatic stress disorder that morning.

Filmmakers Jonathan and Deborah Flora will exhibit their short film "A Distant Thunder" about partial-birth abortion. Other speakers include writer and storyteller Melea J. Brock and author Jim Ulvog, CPA.

The Conference will be held at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Monrovia. Cost is $80 (by February 25), $90 general admission, $35 students. Lunch is included. To register, contact The Right to Life League of Southern California at (626) 398-6100 or www.rtllsc.org.

Interfaith Symposium: March 4

"The Biblical Prophets in Theology, Art and Music" is the theme of the 4th Annual Interfaith Symposium March 4 at 3 p.m. Panelists include Rabbi Edward Feinstein, Art historian Jeremy Glatstein, Rabbi Harold Schulweis, Father Alexei Smith, Dr. Nick Strimple and Rev. Dr. David Worth. Dinner will be offered at 5:30 p.m. followed by a free concert at 7 p.m., featuring the Choral Society of Southern California, the LA Zimriyah Chorale and the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir. The symposium takes place at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, 505 N Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills. The symposium and dinner is $50. To register, call (818) 623-1000.
