Retreats in the area: A partial guide

At a time when many Catholics actively seek out opportunities for deeper spiritual growth, retreats to address a variety of needs, tastes and timeframes are scheduled at area retreat centers throughout the coming months.

Following is only a partial listing of some of the retreat and workshop opportunities available heading into spring. It is advisable to call as soon as possible to make reservations (advance deposits may be required), meal availability within the fees, and to confirm costs (which may, in some cases, be good only to a certain date). For phone numbers, see the retreat center listing on page 23.

In this workshop the monastic tradition of psalmody will be both studied and practiced by participants in order to help them appreciate three spiritual levels or uses of the Psalter: first, the psalms as a means of repentance and inner transformation; second, the Psalter as a mirror of one's relationships in the world; and third, the Psalter as a window into heaven.
