7-11 Ministry Day set Jan. 27

text only version

The annual 7-11 Ministry Day presented by the archdiocesan Office of vocations will be held Jan. 27, beginning and ending at St. Vincent Church in Los Angeles.

Participants are invited to explore their interest and/or desire in a vocation to priesthood or religious life by spending the day working alongside priests or religious sisters or brothers in a variety of ministries. Those range include parish ministry (evangelization, RCIA, religious education); detention ministry; media ministry; ministry to the poor, elderly or homebound (shelters, outreach, transitional housing); education (from elementary to adult); and retreat ministry.

The day begins at 7:45 a.m. with registration, prayer and orientation at St. Vincent, after which participants disperse to explore their chosen areas. They then assemble at St. Vincent in the evening for dinner and entertainment, and to reflect on their experiences.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Registration is $20, which includes the cost of meals. For information, contact the Office for Vocations at (213) 637-7517, or email MinistryDay@aol.com.
