Transfiguration Church in Los Angeles will present its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Revival Jan. 15-17.
Father John Judie, from the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky, "will ignite the sagging souls when he dramatically delivers his messages while 'On the Move with Jesus,' which is this year's revival theme," said Father Richard Martini, pastor.
Father Judie is a world-traveled lecturer and author of several books on religion and its role in society.
"Dr. King said those who stand by and let injustice prevail are as guilty as those who perpetrate it. This revival is set to 'jump start' the faithless and fuel the faithful," said Father Judie, who since 1979 has preached, conducted retreats and taught church history and spirituality.
An accomplished musician, Father Judie was instrumental in the production of the first African American Catholic Hymnal entitled "Lead Me, Guide Me," which is widely used by choirs nationwide. He currently pastors Immaculate Heart of Mary and Christ the King churches in Louisville.
