Sr. Anne Harrington, CSJ
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 2 at Carondelet Center in Los Angeles
for St. Joseph of Carondelet Sister Anne (Kathleen Joseph)
Harrington, 80, who died Nov. 27.
A native of San Francisco, she attended Star of the Sea Academy in "The City" from elementary grades through high school graduation. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1945 and served in her first teaching position at St. James School in Redondo Beach as a sixth grade teacher. She was the founding principal at St. Joseph the Worker School in Canoga Park.
After completing studies in Rome, Sister Harrington served as Novitiate and Juniorate director at Carondelet Center in Los Angeles. Since 1998, she has lived in retirement at Carondelet Center. Members of her community characterized her as living the CSJ charism "with gentleness and kindness."
Sr. Lourdine Sok, SSND
Funeral Mass was held Oct. 29 at the School Sisters of Notre
Dame Motherhouse Chapel in St. Louis, Missouri, for School
Sister of Notre Dame Lourdine Sok, 90, who died Oct. 25.
Born in Petersburg, Nebraska, she entered the congregation of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1932. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1952 from San Diego State University and a master's degree in education in 1972 from Loyola Marymount University.
She was a teacher for 47 years at schools throughout California, Illinois, Louisiana and Missouri. Locally, she taught at two Pico Rivera schools: St. Marianne de Paredes (1956-68) and St. Hilary (1969-1982).

Sr. Mary Bertilia Hart, CSSF
Funeral Mass was held Oct. 20 in the Assumption of the Blessed
Virgin Mary Convent Chapel in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, for
Felician-Franciscan Sister Mary Bertilia Hart, who died Oct.
17 of brain cancer.
Born in Rietbrock, Wisconsin, Sister Hart entered the Felician Congregation in 1939. After receiving her bachelor's degree in home economics education, she was missioned to Pomona Catholic High School in Pomona where she taught home economics until 1977.
According
to her community members, Sister Hart "truly lived as a shepherdess
of constant vigilance and care for others. Those who knew
her will remember her for her acceptance of God's will, especially
in her acceptance of her own suffering and death. In this
suffering and death, she showed all of us how to live."
Felicito Majarucon
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 19 at Santa Clara Church in Oxnard
for Felicito Majarucon, who died Dec. 14. He was the father
of Father Jon Majarucon, pastor of Santa Clara Church.
