Jesse Manibusan concerts: Nov. 11-12

Catholic singer/songwriter Jesse Manibusan will perform in concerts this weekend at St. Lawrence Martyr Church, Redondo Beach (7:30 p.m., Nov. 11), and at Sacred Heart Church, Covina (7:30 p.m., Nov. 12).

A familiar sight at youth rallies, retreats and World Youth Days, Manibusan calls himself a Catholic lay evangelist who uses music, comedy and stories to connect with his audience, hoping his music will inspire young people to seek out spiritual lives and experiences. With six CDs under his belt, Manibusan has been named Artist of the Year by the United Catholic Music and Video Association.

At St. Lawrence Martyr, Manibusan also will present a workshop Nov. 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. For information on the events, call (310) 316-0090 (St. Lawrence Martyr) or (626) 331-7914 (Sacred Heart).
