Catholic-Jewish Women's Conference set Nov. 11

"All About Eve: Saint or Sinner?" will be the topic of the 29th annual Catholic-Jewish Women's Conference scheduled Nov. 11, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Bernardine of Siena Church, Woodland Hills.

The conference will explore how the interpretation of Genesis, Chapters 1-3, has affected the position of women in our faith traditions. Speakers in the morning will be Rabbi Sherre Z. Hirsh and Dr. Alexis Navarro, IHM. A question and answer period will follow. The afternoon is devoted to small dialogue groups.

Rabbi Hirsch is a California native and a graduate of The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York who shares the pulpit at Sinai Temple in Westwood, a Conservative congregation.

Dr. Navarro is Professor Emerita of Religious Studies and former director of the Graduate Program in Religious Studies at Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles. She is a member of the Immaculate Heart Community, an ecumenical community of women and men, based in Los Angeles.
