'Story of Father Hesburgh'
to be presented Oct. 8

The Notre Dame Club of Los Angeles and Family Theater Productions, Hollywood, will present a special sneak preview of the Catholic production company's new one-hour documentary, "God, Country, Notre Dame: The Story of Father Ted Hesburgh, CSC," Oct. 8, 11 a.m. at the Laemmle Theater, Monica 4-Plex, 1332 2nd St., Santa Monica.

Advance tickets, for a $10 donation, are available by calling the Notre Dame Club of Los Angles at (626) 795-6363 and leaving a name, phone number, ticket quantity and an email address or you may email that information to the club at info@ndcla.com. Tickets also will be available at the Monica 4-Plex box office.

"Screening this film at the Laemmle Theater in Santa Monica will enable audiences to enjoy the full effect of the exquisite photography shot in true high definition and of the Dolby 5.1 surround sound," said Holy Cross Father Wilfred Raymond, national director of Family Theater Productions, executive producer of this documentary and priest-in-residence at St. Monica Church.

The program will have its premiere broadcast Nov. 6 at noon (EST) on the Hallmark Channel as a special presentation of Faith and Values Media.

"God, Country, Notre Dame: The Story of Father Ted Hesburgh, CSC" features interviews with Father Hesburgh and with all of the living former U.S. Presidents: Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford as and Bill Clinton, as well as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Notre Dame football coach Ara Parseghian and Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Archbishop of Washington, D.C.

The narrators are TV personality Regis Philbin, Notre Dame's outstanding alumnus; and actors Sean Astin (Sam in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and star of "Rudy" about a Notre Dame football walk-on) and Clarence Gilyard (co-star of "Walker Texas Ranger" and "Matlock").
