St. Paul Scripture series
planned at St. Bernardine

San Fernando Regional News
text only version

A Scripture and book discussion series focusing on "Saint Paul: The Rebel with a Cause" will be offered Thursday evenings in September at St. Bernardine Church in Woodland Hills.

Franciscan Father Doug Glassman will lead participants into a study of Saint Paul's personality based on scripture references and the book, "Paul His Story" by Father Jerome Murphy-O'Connor.

Sessions include: "The early years, personality/context," Sept. 8; "Jewish/Christian ideas of Messiah," Sept. 15; "Law-free mission vs. law-observant Jew," Sept. 22; and "The paper trail: Paul's letters," Sept. 29.

All are invited to "discover the drama and color of this flawed but undefeated hero with a burning cause." Sessions begin at 7:30 p.m. in the parish center located at 24410 Calvert St. (at Valley Circle Boulevard) in Woodland Hills. For more information, call (818) 888-8200.
