World Youth Day

San Fernando Regional News

Members of the local Catholic rock band "Rise" will be among thousands of pilgrims in Cologne, Germany, for World Youth Day festivities Aug. 14-21. Bandmates since 1999 when they met while involved in the RCIA process at Incarnation Church in Glendale, the Catholic rock musicians will perform Aug. 17 in Bonn Marktplatz from 3-4 p.m.

Rise has performed at churches in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys as well as at St. John Arena in Steubenville, Ohio. Their first album, "Through the Son," has received national and international airplay on Christian radio stations.
