New KofC officers selected

San Gabriel Region

Members of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the Knights of Columbus --- the coordinating body for 25 local councils in the San Gabriel Region --- have selected new officers for the 2005-06 program year.

The new officers include: Joseph Salaiz, president, from Our Lady of Assumption Church, Claremont; Chris Scotti, vice-president, from Nativity Church, El Monte; Jim Baker Sr., secretary, from Immaculate Conception Church, Monrovia; Peter Lamendola, treasurer, from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Pasadena; and Gene Hays Sr. from St. Christopher Church, West Covina.

Gene Hays Jr., a 17-year old senior at Bishop Amat High School, La Puente, was elected State Chief Squire for the Columbian Squires in California. The Squires are the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus. Boys aged 10-18 are eligible to participate.
