Carmelite celebrates silver anniversary

text only version

Carmelite Father William Wert, a former campus minister at Crespi High School in Encino, celebrated his 25th anniversary as a professed Carmelite last month.

Prior to his ordination as a priest on May 10, 1986, he completed his master's degree in systematic theology from the Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C., and a master's degree in religious education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

His first assignment was at Crespi Carmelite High School, where he served one year as the director of campus ministry. Currently, he serves as vocation director, prior and co-director of Whitefriars Hall in Washington, D.C., the Carmelites' international house of study.
