La Salle Senior makes Rose Parade court

San Gabriel Regional News

Representing Sierra Madre by riding a float down Colorado Boulevard Jan. 1 will be Rachel Wogensen, a senior at La Salle High School and parishioner of St. Rita Church in Sierra Madre. Chosen as one of four young ladies to be on the 2005 Sierra Madre Royal Court, Wogensen is "excited to be representing the city I grew up in. My court friends and I are having a great time together."

Actively involved in the La Salle community as well as in the surrounding cities, Wogensen participates in track, basketball, cheerleading and Lancer Television, as well as being awarded a scholarship to La Salle for having one of the seven highest test scores at entrance. Currently, she is one of the executive producers for Lancer Television, a member of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) and a regular volunteer at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia and the Sierra Madre Skilled Nursing Facility.

After she graduates, Wogensen hopes to attend USC or Santa Clara University where she plans to major in psychology, then attend law school. "Ultimately I would like to be a judge because I enjoy looking at different solutions to problems," she says.
