St. Joseph Center Thanksgiving

Our Lady of the Angels Region
text only version

Thanksgiving enjoyment was provided Nov. 23 through St. Joseph Center, Venice, with the help of the L.A. Clippers, who helped serve Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings to 50 homeless men, women and children at St. Joseph Center's Bread & Roses Café. Clipper general manager Elgin Baylor (from left), Sister Eileen Mitchell, the center's coordinator for Mission and Education; and Rhonda Meister, executive director, were among those on hand. "I look forward to the Clippers' visit every year," said Sister Mitchell, "because they bring community to the less fortunate." The Clippers also collaborated with Ralphs Supermarkets and Food For Less to distributed over 400 turkeys, bags of food, and stacks of clothing to families in need.
