Playoff Report: Volleyball, Tennis,
Water Polo

CIF-Southern Section playoff action is winding down in girls volleyball, as several Catholic teams pursue titles in their respective divisions.

Division II-AA: Mater Dei will play Chaparral for the championship

Division III-AA: Santa Margarita defeated Northwood to reach the final against Rim of the World, which beat St. Joseph (Lakewood) in the semifinals.

Division III-A: Both Catholic school semifinalists were beaten --- Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) by Corona Del Mar, and Louisville by Nipomo.

Division IV-AA: Defending titlist Marymount will play Notre Dame Academy in an all-Catholic school final, after they defeated Laguna Beach and Flintridge Sacred Heart, respectively, in the semis.

Girls tennis

The three remaining Catholic teams were defeated in their respective quarterfinal matches Nov. 16: Mater Dei by Calabasas (Division I); Mayfield by Brentwood (Division III); and Villanova by Palos Verdes (Division IV).

Boys water polo

Servite (Division II) and Damien (Division III) reached the semifinals Nov. 16 in their divisions, but Loyola lost in Division I play to Corona Del Mar.
