Randall Reynoso, a senior at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs, was one of nine student winners of Universal Pictures "Friday Night Lights" All Star competition.
Winners were awarded a trip for two to the Hollywood premier of the Universal film "Friday Night Lights," and since Randall lives in the Los Angeles area he was additionally awarded a preview screening for 200 people at the La Habra Regal Theatre.
Randall, who was selected for the award based on his academic performance, leadership ability and teamwork, invited every member of the St. Paul football team, pep squad/cheerleaders, band members, and some school staff members to the private screening.
Randall walked the red carpet at the premier with his mom, Julie Reynoso.
"I was just so awed, I was standing next to Olympic Gold Medal winners Misty May and Lisa Fernandez, looking at Billy Bob Thornton, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill," said Reynoso. "I just felt so privileged to be there, a little like a celebrity. Then suddenly the cameras turned toward us - flashbulbs popping. Wow." |
