Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the City of Angels Film Festival will be held Oct. 22-24 in Hollywood.
With the theme "Reel Myths," the City of Angels Film Festival explores the intersection of film, city and religion. "We attempt in each festival to produce a dynamic film program in the most culturally rich and diverse city in the 21st Century where we both practice and question religious confessions and entertainment art," explained Scott Young, co-founder and executive director of the event.
Included in this year's program is a screening of the David Tlapek documentary on John Nava's Cathedral Tapestries, "The Making of the Tapestries," on Oct. 23-24. Also, the annual Gabriel Awards, sponsored by Family Theater Productions and presented by the Catholic Academy of Communication Arts Professionals, will be held Oct. 22 at the Directors Guild of America,
The City of Angels Film Festival is sponsored by numerous arts organizations, institutions and agencies. For information on the festival, contact (626) 304-3775, or visit www.cityofangelsfilmfest.org. |
