PALESTINIAN-ISRAELI CONFLICT --- An injured Palestinian man is carried from the scene of an Israeli helicopter missile strike on a car in Gaza City Aug. 21. Israel launched the strike following the Palestinian suicide bombing on a bus in Jerusalem that killed 20 people and shattered a seven-week cease-fire in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The two principal U.S. presidential candidates to date have spoken more of defeating terrorists and U.S. involvement in Iraq than solving regional conflicts such as the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.
