School principal returns after 16 years

Our Lady of the Angels Region
text only version

After 16 years, Andrea Deebs has returned to Our Mother of Good Counsel School as its principal.

She previously served in that position from 1986 to 1988 at the Catholic elementary school located in the Los Feliz district. Her 40-year career as an educator began in Michigan and has taken her to Japan, Bermuda, Oklahoma, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Deebs' plans for Our Mother of Good Counsel School include updating the school computer lab, which currently has 26 computers. She is also bringing back the annual science fair and is starting a debate team and peacemaker and sports awards.

Our Mother of Good Counsel School was founded in 1933 by the Augustinian order. Some students who graduated while Deebs was principal from 1986 to 1988 now have school-age children themselves.
