St. Monica Octoberfair: Sept. 24-26

St. Monica Church in Santa Monica will kick off its 41st annual Octoberfair with a chili cook-off featuring Mimi Kennedy (ABC's "Dharma & Greg) the evening of Sept. 24.

Lou Ferrigno (TV's Hulk) joins in the games and former Olympic figure skaters Gary Visconti and Randy Gardner kick off the 5k walk Sept. 25 at 8:30 a.m. The fair also includes carnival rides, a petting zoo, a craft sale, food booths and live music featuring a dozen bands. The grand prize in the annual raffle is a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
