Born: November 28, 1949 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Family: Parents Guillermo (deceased) and Hilda Salazar; one sister, Hilda.

Education: St. Thomas the Apostle School, Los Angeles; Daniel Murphy High School, Los Angeles; East Los Angeles College; Cal State Los Angeles; Immaculate Heart College (B.A., bilingual studies).

Professional: Teacher at St. Albert the Great School, Compton (1968-79).

Seminary Education: St. John's Seminary, Camarillo; transitional diaconate at St. Joseph the Worker, Canoga Park, and St. Mary Magdalen, Camarillo.

Ordained: June 16, 1984.

Pastoral work
Associate Pastor: St. Gregory the Great Church, Whittier (1984-88); Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Pasadena (1988-92); Cathedral of St. Vibiana, Los Angeles (1992-93).
