The Western Province of Discalced Carmelite Fiars recently ordained a priest and two deacons.

Father Mario Catungal was ordained a priest June 5 at St. Therese Church in Alhambra by Bishop Rolando Tirona of Infante, Phiilippines. He is the son of Dominga Catungal of San Diego and the late Pastor Catungal.

Brother Adam Gonzales and Brother José Luis Ferroni Palacios were ordained deacons May 25 at El Carmelo Retreat House in Redlands. Bishop Gerald Barnes of San Bernardino was the ordaining prelate.

Brother Gonzalez was born in Long Beach and is the son of Anna Salcido of Banning, Calif. and the late Robert Gonzales. Brother Ferroni is the son of Gaspar Ferroni and Irma Palacios of Sarasota, Fla.

Brothers Gonzales and Ferroni are beginning their fourth year of theology this fall at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon. Father Catungal begins service as assistant pastor at the Carmelites' Santa Cruz Parish in Tucson.
