to give sculptural form to the most positive aspects of God's
creation. In this piece, 'Jesus Being Nailed to the Cross,'
I had to both confront cruelty and depict man at his most
brutal. Nothing I have ever done has brought me closer to
an understanding of Christ's crucifixion."
