Resurgam

"Resurgam means 'to rise,
to lift oneself.' I thought this conveyed perfectly the purpose
of the mission both spiritually and physically. I composed
the painting so that you first see the dark shadows of the
mission wall. As you pass through the door you are led into
the sunlit courtyard. The contrast between the two symbolized
my own spiritual journey."
