"This scene depicts a passageway
from darkness into the light in a 17th century Jesuit church
in Rome. The painting symbolizes hope and the bright promise
of the Resurrection. On the right-hand wall I have written
from the Vulgate (Latin Bible) the verse of Philippians 4:8:
'Whatsoever things are honest, just, pure, lovely or of good
report; think on these things.'"
