Santa Barbara Region
text only version

Two graduating seniors of local Catholic high schools were named recipients of the Lucille Rader Education Foundation 2004 scholarship awards.

Katie Parziale, from Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai, and Catherine Kelley, from St. Joseph High School in Lakewood, will receive the scholarships which honor Catholic school senior girls who have demonstrated academic and athletic excellence. This fall, Parziale and Kelley will attend Loyola University in Chicago and the University of Notre Dame, respectively. Other finalists included Caitlin Garvey of St. Joseph High School, and Elizabeth Saputo of Mary Star of the Sea High School, San Pedro.

Lucille Rader, a former Immaculate Heart nun and teacher at Immaculate Heart School and Immaculate Heart College, established the foundation in memory of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary who staffed Immaculate Heart College and Immaculate Heart High School since 1906
