On June 13 Beatitudes of Our Lord Church in La Mirada will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special Mass at 3 p.m. with Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Satoris presiding. Following the liturgy will be a dinner reception in Marron Hall.

During the past 40 years the Beatitudes community has grown in numbers, in active participation by the laity and in a spiritual commitment. Today there are over 20 vibrant ministries within the parish ranging from the Bereavement Ministry to the Youth Detention Ministry.

Through the leadership of Father Anthony Page, pastor, and the active involvement of its members, the parish has sought to address the needs of all ages. During the last few years, implementations include a weekly children's liturgy, an intergeneration Prayer Day and a reflective "question of the week" for adults and children tied in with the liturgical readings.

Founded in 1964, Beatitudes "looks forward to continued spiritual growth in the years ahead," said anniversary committee member Cathy Ferrin.
