An archdiocesan VIRTUS awareness training for the prevention of the sexual abuse of children will take place at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church May 24, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A light supper will be served in the parish hall beginning at 6 p.m.

The training will offer basic awareness on how to prevent abuse from happening in addition to detecting it in a parish setting, said Roberta Morris, director of religious education at Our Mother of Good Counsel.

"It's a very good model for adult education, in terms of expanding one's knowledge on the issue," said Morris.
