San Fernando Region News
text only version

Actress Catherine Hicks and local doctors Aida Shirinian-Kaloostian and William Kaloostian were honored March 20 during Providence High School's third annual Promise for the Future gala held at the Los Angeles Zoo Treetops Terrace. Each year, the high school recognizes individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of media communications and health care, the career disciplines of the school's two academic focus programs.

Hicks, currently playing the role of "Annie Camden" on the television show "7th Heaven," received the Excellence in Media award from Tom Durkin, media communications focus program director. Dr. Arjan Harjani, health careers focus program director, presented the Excellence in Health Care awards to Drs. Shirinian-Kaloostian and Kaloostian, parents of three Providence graduates currently studying medicine. During the ceremony, Providence principal, Sister of Providence Lucille Dean, received a surprise award in honor of her 50th anniversary as a religious sister.
