In making his acquaintance with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Auxiliary Bishop Oscar A. Solis will be attending various celebrations throughout the three-county region in the weeks and months ahead.

One will take place April 25 at Blessed Junipero Serra Church, Camarillo, as the parish and the Filipino Community coordinate a "Welcome Celebration" for the recently ordained Filipino American bishop. Bishop Solis will preside at a multicultural Mass at 11 a.m., preceded by a procession beginning at 10:45 incorporating liturgical dancers, children and a Marian tribute. The Filipino Choir of Southern California, whose members are made up of Filipinos from various parishes, under the direction of Siony Liebe will be singing for the Mass.

Festivities immediately following the Mass include a buffet lunch and entertainment in the church courtyard. Tickets for the lunch are priced at $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3-12, and free for kids under 3.
