A piano benefit concert to support the St. Jude Filipino Ministry in the Conejo Valley area will be sponsored by the ministry on May 2 in Thousand Oaks.

Adolvini Acosta, a former Juilliard student who has performed in concert halls around the world, is the featured performer for the 3 p.m. concert, to be held at the Scherr Forum Theatre within the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Countrywide Performing Arts Center. Ms. Acosta's program will include works by various Filipino composers (Paterno, Cornejo and Buencamino) as well as works by Brahms, Gershwin, Chopin and others.

The St. Jude Filipino Ministry serves Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Newbury Park. Tickets for the event are $30; for information, call Teresita Zaratan, (805) 496-8026.
