A forum on the "Empowerment of Women" will take place at Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary High School in Montebello April 25.

Organized by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Sisters, the 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. forum will feature keynote speaker Lucky Altman of the National Conference for Community and Justice. Breakout sessions will delve into empowering women, including immigrant women, in the workplace, in the church, and in the face of violence. San Gabriel Regional Bishop Gabino Zavala will celebrate the 4 p.m. liturgy and Rosie Hernandez, pastoral associate of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Los Angeles (Hammel Street), will preach. Bring a bag lunch. There is no fee, but pre-registration is appreciated by April 16 by calling (323) 887-8821, ext. 216. Walk-ins are welcomed provided there is space.
