La Reina hosts car show

Santa Barbara Region
text only version

On April 25, the public is invited to don their hot-rodding duds and jam over to La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks for its 12th annual Regents Car Show, with proceeds going to support the school's sports program.

The La Reina High School Booster Club coordinates the show which awards trophies in many car categories including antiques, Corvettes, muscle cars, Thunderbirds, modified/customs, special interest and more.

In the past, proceeds from the car show have supplied the girls' school's sports programs with gym bags, jerseys, timers, bats, balls, nets and even horse blankets. Organizers stress that sports are vital for young women, giving them opportunities to enhance their strength of character via competition and physical discipline.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.; the car show begins at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is $15 per car until April 18 and $20 thereafter. Spectators are $2 per person or $5 per car. For information, call the La Reina Booster Club, (805) 495-6494, ext. 381.
