Grandparents Day celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine School

San Fernando Region
text only version

Numerous grandparents of St. Robert Bellarmine School students in Burbank gathered Feb. 13 before the 8 a.m. morning bell to join their grandchildren in celebration of Grandparents Day. After assembling in class rows, the 600-strong group of grandparents and grandchildren proceeded into church where they attended a special Mass.

Following the liturgy, Father Lawrence Signey, St. Robert Bellarmine pastor, said grandparents are "exceptional people" in the lives of their grandchildren. He told the children that the first five letters in Grandparents stand for: "great, radiance, amazing, nice and darling."

A reception followed in the main school hall where Dr. June Rosena, the school principal, welcomed the guests and introduced the school band, which provided entertainment.
