Pauline Sister Rose Pacatte, a contributing film reviewer
and essayist for The Tidings, was recently honored with several
awards for her articles in The Tidings and the book "Lights,
Camera…Faith! A Movie Lover's Guide to Scripture."
At
the 2004 Angel Awards, Sister Pacatte received three Silver
Angel honors for her 2003 film essays that appeared in The
Tidings, her "Eye on Entertainment" column in St. Anthony
Messenger Press, and (with Father Peter Malone) the Cycle
C edition of "Lights, Camera…Faith!".
The Angel Awards are presented annually by Excellence in
Media, an organization dedicated to the promotion of quality
family oriented programming in all facets of communication.
Gold Angel honors went to several feature films and television
shows --- among them, "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Joan of
Arcadia," "Whale Rider," "Bend It Like Bekham" and "Finding
Nemo."
"The
recipients of the Gold and Silver Angels are people in any
form of the media who have successfully contributed to the
advancement of quality in life without the unnecessary need
for violence, profanity and sexual content to sell to their
audience," said a statement from the 27-year-old organization.
