Ten Louisville High School students attending the Woodland Hills school's AP studio art class were recruited to have their artwork displayed in Trader Joe's new specialty food store which opened at the Fallbrook Mall last Nov.

The students created acrylic paintings reflecting the store's tropical-themed décor. The framed works are on permanent display over the market's dairy case. "It was hard to give up a painting," said senior Simone Franz, "but the recognition helped me to realize what it would be like to be an artist in the modern world."

Participating students included: Kelsey Brain, Emily Dominguez, Noelle Hubbell, Melissa Fiskio, Jennifer Lee, Simone Franz, Leslie Felten, Sophie Taub, Arika Urquidez and Angela Quan.
