Hundreds
of parishioners, many attired in costumes from their native
country, attended the second annual Multicultural Mass and
Festival at St. Bridget of Sweden Church in Van Nuys Feb.
7. Multilingual petitions during the Mass were spoken in several
languages, including English, Indonesian, Spanish, Tongan
and Tagalog.
After
the liturgy, parishioners shared a feast in the parish hall
and enjoyed international entertainment. Tongan, Hawaiian
and Mexican dancers performed as well as musicians Frank Marraco
and Jesse Rodriguez. Members of the parish Indonesian community
added musical harmonies with their traditional Indonesian
