CIF-Southern Section playoffs in basketball, soccer and water polo continue this week with second round, quarterfinal and semifinal action in the various sports.

This week's playoff action and upcoming schedules includes the following:

Boys' Basketball (all Feb. 24)
Division IIAA second round: Loyola downed Irvine University 74-63, and Cajon beat St. John Bosco 74-58. Loyola will play Sunny Hills in the quarterfinals Feb. 27.

Division IIA second round: Mater Dei whipped West Torrance 77-45 and will meet Mark Keppel in the quarterfinals Feb. 27.

Division IIIAA quarterfinals: Servite defeated Ocean View 76-71, and Santa Margarita buried Ganesha 59-36. In the semifinals Feb. 27, Servite plays Calabasas and Santa Margarita meets Arlington.

Division IIIA quarterfinals: Centennial beat Chaminade 65-49; Bishop Montgomery edged Orange Lutheran 63-60, and will play Harvard Westlake in the semifinals Feb. 27.

Division IVAA quarterfinals: St. Joseph (Santa Maria) beat Loma Linda Academy 77-45, and St. Bernard beat Campbell Hall 72-62. Oaks Christian stopped La Salle 57-42, and Brentwood edged Serra in overtime 63-60. In the semifinals, St. Joseph plays Oaks Christian, and St. Bernard plays Brentwood.

Division IVA quarterfinals: Verbum Dei beat Buckley 68-40, and Mary Star downed Brethren Christian 51-41. St. Margaret's nipped Santa Clara 53-51. Verbum Dei and Mary Star will play a semifinal game Feb. 27.

Division VAA quarterfinals: St. Anthony beat Hesperia Christian 51-46, and will play Rolling Hills Prep in the semifinals Feb. 27.

Girls' Basketball (all Feb. 25)
Division IIA second round: Redondo at Mater Dei.

Division IIIAA quarterfinals: La Canada at Alemany; Newbury Park at Santa Margarita.

Division IIIA quarterfinals: Rosary at Chaminade; Bishop Montgomery at Muir; Bishop Amat at El Segundo.

Division IVAA quarterfinals: St. Monica at Marlborough; Serra at Twentynine Palms; Oaks Christian vs. St. Mary's Academy at St. Bernard.

Division IVA quarterfinals: Bell-Jeff at Cantwell Sacred Heart.

Girls' Water Polo (Feb. 25)
Division I semifinals: Foothill at Santa Margarita.

Boys' Soccer (all Feb. 24, 2nd round; quarterfinals are Feb. 26)
Division I: Damien beat Fountain Valley 3-2 in double overtime; Bell Gardens blankled Servite 4-0; Santa Margarita edged Rancho Cucamonga 1-0 in overtime. Quarterfinal matches include Damien at Quartz Hill, and Diamond Ranch at Santa Margarita.

Division II: St. Francis stopped Westlake 5-2; Loyola blanked Villa Park 2-0. In the quarterfinals, it will be St. Francis vs. Corona Del Mar and Loyola vs. Peninsula.

Division IV: Cathedral beat Baldwin Park on penalty kicks after tying 2-2, and will host Coachella Valley in the quarterfinals.

Division V: Paraclete shut out Silverado 3-0, and Salesian stopped Pasadena Poly by the same score. In the quarterfinals, Paraclete plays Sierra Vista and Salesian plays Oaks Christian.

Division VI: Villanova Prep edged Santa Clarita Christian 3-2; St. Bernard beat Avalon 3-2; St. Bonaventure downed Whittier Christian 5-0; and St. Margaret's beat Mary Star 2-1 in overtime. Quarterfinal action includes Villanova Prep vs. St. Bernard, and St. Bonaventure against St. Margaret's.

Girls' Soccer (all Feb. 25, 2nd round)
Division I: Ayala at Santa Margarita; Mater Dei at St. Lucy's.

Division IV: Palm Desert at Bishop Amat.

Division V: Nordhoff vs. Notre Dame Academy at Brentwood; Arroyo at La Salle; L.A. Baptist at Marymount.

Division VI: Western Christian vs. Alverno at La Salle; Serra at Windward.
