Little Sisters of the Poor Auxiliary
elect new officers

San Pedro Region
text only version

The Auxiliary of the Little Sisters of the Poor in San Pedro hosted a dinner Jan. 21 to celebrate the installation of its new executive officers.

The newly elected officers are Jan Wernied, president; Dottie Good, co-president; Virginia Brumm and Vera Lambase, first vice presidents; Jan Lauterjung, second vice president; Carole Stutske, recording secretary, Mary Ann Rossbottom, corresponding secretary, and Mary Jean Salcido, treasurer.

The 200-member auxiliary is a fundraising group that helps the Little Sisters of the Poor with operating costs and special needs for the Jeanne Jugan Residence, a home for the elderly operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Since the Auxiliary was founded in 1997 the group has raised nearly $800,000 to aid the Little Sisters in their ministry of care for the aged poor.

Later this year the Auxiliary will be hosting a dinner-dance and auction to celebrate the 25th jubilee anniversary of the Little Sisters relocation form Boyle Heights to its current location in San Pedro. The Little Sisters will be celebrating their 100th year in Southern California in 2005.
